Four boats enjoyed a warm fall evening in early September at a West River mooring. They cleared the hardwood deck on Second Time Around and danced the night away.

Raftup 2001, St Peters Island

One Saturday in 2001 four members of the Blue Heron Power & Sail Squadron decided to raft up overnight at anchor in the lee of St Peters Island. It was a gorgeous September weekend, warm, sunny and calm. Next morning we awoke to find we had Hillsborough Bay all to ourselves, lit by a golden autumn sun. The rest is history. Every year since then Squadron members have rafted overnight once a summer. Undoubtedly we had revived an old tradition followed by Island boaters in previous generations before us.
