If you are rejoining, please note that you must help our national office staff by supplying three pieces of information:
1. The year you took the Boating course.
2.
Your address at the time you took the Boating course.
3.
The Squadron's name. If it was our Squadron, remember to point out that the Squadron's name changed from Charlottetown Power Squadron to Blue Heron Power and Sail Squadron in 1995.
Annual Fees
(Fees may vary from those shown)
$41 for Full and Associate members.
Full members must have completed the Boating course. Full members can vote, hold office, have access to Piloting, Advanced Piloting and Celestial Navigation, wear insignia, fly the flag, and have access to all the membership benefits.
Associate members must have taken and passed the CPS-ECP Boat Pro course, which leads to the PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operators Card). There are some equivalent courses that CPS-ECP will also accept. A CPS Associate shall have all the rights, privileges and obligations of a Regular Member, except the right to vote at any Squadron, District, or National Meeting, to hold office in CPS (but can be appointed to the Bridge as a non-voting member), to receive notices of any meetings of CPS, to fly the flag, or wear or display any rank or grade insignia of CPS, to access the CPS Members Boat Insurance Program, or to enroll in Advanced courses of CPS.
$14 for additional Family members in either category. Family members share all the benefits related to their entry level (Boating Course or BoatPro Course).

How to Renew Annually
CPS-ECP Headquarters in Toronto will send out an invoice to each member every spring. Use the invoice number to renew in one of several ways"
Regular Member, with full privileges: graduates of the CPS-ECP Boating course.
Associate Member, with limited privileges: PCOC card holder who has completed the two-evening CPS-ECP PCOC card course (BoatPro) or equivalency as specified in CPS-ECP regulations.

Blue Heron Squadron Benefits
Discount registration fees for Blue Heron Squadron Canadian Power & Sail Squadron educational courses and seminars. Most course discounts are about equivalent to our annual membership fee.
Invitations to Blue Heron Squadron special events, like the "Winds and Waves" evening. We plan to make this an annual lecture series and social evening.
Annual Graduation and Instructor Recognition Evening each April. This is brief business meeting, graduation ceremony for successful course candidates, and social evening. We also host a speaker to give an interesting talk on some aspect of nautical life.

Free course audit for members: CPS-ECP members may audit Blue Heron Squadron courses for free if they have taken and passed the course in the past. Those who chose to obtain study materials or write the exam will pay the usual discounted fees for those services, but not the full course tuition.
