A.H. Mitton Squadron Achievement Award:
Congratulations Past Commander Gerald MacDougall and the 2016-17 Bridge.
April 20, 2017:
Thanks to the devoted work of Past Commander Gerald MacDougall, his 2016-17 Bridge and our volunteer instructors, Blue Heron Power and Sail Squadron won the CPS-ECP Atlantic District's A.H. Mitton Squadron Achievement Award this year. Gerald led delivery of an excellent program of training courses last year, and has taken over from Greg MacKay as Squadron Training Officer. Greg held the position for more than a decade, leading programs of courses that provided better boating education to many boaters on PEI. He was instrumental in bringing this award to the Squadron twice: in 2002 and on 2010.
Feras Arnaout picked up the award for the Squadron when he represented the Squadron at the District's Annual General Meeting in Moncton in April.
BZ, Gerald and team.

Sponsor a Dock Ladder
Inspired by a tragic incident one winter, members of Blue Heron Power & Sail Squadron coordinated installation of sponsored dock ladders along the Charlottetown waterfront. The first locations for these ladders were the marinas at Charlottetown Yacht Club and Quartermaster Marina. Sponsor one of these sturdy aluminum ladders for $200. A 9" x 5" plaque will be placed at the ladder displaying your name or business. To confirm your sponsorship please contact Greg MacKay at 902-566-6777 or use our email form on Contact Us.
Want to be put on our mailing list for courses and events? Please fill out our contact email form.
About Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons: "Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons - Escadrilles Canadiennes de plaisance (CPS-ECP) is a nationwide organization of boating enthusiasts. Their aim is to increase boating safety and enjoyment by providing instruction in all phases of seamanship and navigation, both power and sail. It is a charitable, membership-type organization, incorporated under the Companies Act of Canada. Except for a small paid staff in the national office, all teaching and administrative work is done by volunteers. CPS is non-governmental, non-regulatory and non-military. It is not restricted to boat owners, nor owners of large yachts. Purely and simply, it is a dedicated group interested in increasing safety and pleasure on the waterways through education."
